Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. It affects every aspect of your life, from your ability to manage activities of daily living, your relationships and your career. 
Unfortunately, symptoms of mental health often go unnoticed or unaddressed until it becomes a much bigger problem.

 

Identifying the Signs

The first step to promoting mental health personally or with your friends, family and colleagues is awareness and having a good understanding of it. Our Mental Health Awareness Course equips you with the knowledge and skills to know and recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health issues in yourself and others.

Our course guides you through the following topics to give you a better understanding and practical skills for recognising and managing ental health in your personal life and at work:

  • What is mental health and removing the associated stigma

  • Identifying the signs and symptoms of mental health

  • How to recognise and improve your own mental health

  • Benefits of mentally health home and workplaces

  • Understanding of the different types of mental health illnesses, symptoms, triggers,

  • How to recognise and respond to a mental health crisis as a First Aider

Power of Conversation

Being aware is not enough. The practical component of our course prepares you to conduct difficult conversations when you realise someone is struggling with their mental health and might require assistance. Whether it is with a coworker, a friend, or a loved one, our practical scenarios will guide and give you the confidence to initiate these essential conversations. You will have 3 three workplace scenarios to work
through to apply your learning and put what you have learnt into practice.
You will be given a list of services to which you can refer those in order to provide them with the assistance and support they need to make a difference to their lives.

What Sets Our Course Apart

The course was developed in collaboration with mental health experts and provides an overview of all facets of mental health awareness. Dr. Greg Shields, a psychiatrist who serves as Head of Product Development and Strategy and Quality Assurance Lead at Maudsley Learning (UK), was our lead mental health specialist. He has worked with Maudsley Learning since 2018 and their mission is to improve everyone's mental health and wellbeing through training and education. By drawing on his experience as a psychiatrist and the considerable mental health training he conducts for Maudsley Learning he was able to ensure that our course offers a comprehensive structure to build skills and understanding that can be easily applied to real life situations.

Course Details

Delivery:

The course is available online. Study anytime, anywhere with in our online campus. Our course offers self-paced flexibility as you work through the modules in our online campus.

Duration:

Self-paced. It should take roughly 6 hours to complete. We also offer face to face training for groups of up to 20 people.
